The Karate Kid is a story of a kid named Daniel Larrusso from New Jersey who’s mom lands a job in California and she decides to move there with Daniel. Daniel being new gets picked on by the local bullies, who all are students themselves in karate. Determined to stick up for himself, Daniel who learned Karate at a YMCA, but is not at all adept as the local bullies begins to practice karate by learning more from a book. Daniel soon discovers that the maintenance man Mr. Miyagi at the apartment building is well-versed in Karate. He teaches Daniel that it is better to resolve issues by talking rather than with violence. Trying to stick up for Daniel, Mr. Miyagi ends up getting Daniel into somewhat deeper trouble. Daniel enters the All Valley Karate Championship, and Mr. Miyagi agrees to teach him.
